What does Jura Professional Too hot mean?
Cleaning, rinsing and descaling programs need the system to start from a lower temperature, so the machine refuses to begin one if it is too hot. After a run of drinks, the heater and lines are well above that point. The WE8 then shows Too hot instead of starting the program. The manual gives two ways out: wait several minutes until the system has cooled, or prepare a specialty coffee or hot water, which draws fresh cold water through the system. It is an operator prompt, not a failure. It appears at the end of a busy shift when the cleaning prompt arrives straight after many drinks. If the prompt stays long after cooling, the temperature reading may be wrong. The instructions list 220-240 V, 50 Hz. Running the maintenance program first thing in the morning, when the machine is cold, avoids the message entirely. Starting it right after the last drink of a long evening is when it appears. The cooling water drawn through the system is not wasted, because it also rinses the lines slightly.
