Imperial Brown walk-ins are modular boxes with cam-lock panels. Refrigeration is usually a top-mount packaged system, and the refrigeration model numbers seen on these boxes include PTN031H6A and PTN099M6B. The box carries a digital thermometer with an alarm, a high limit called HSP, a low limit called LSP, and a 9-volt backup battery.
For repairs, the box manual defers to the refrigeration system’s own manual, so we work from the label on the system as well as the box. We start with the door, the gaskets and the heaters, then the coil, the defrost and the condensing unit.
Three dots on the display mean the backup battery is low, and a flashing display with an alarm means the temperature is out of range. Older boxes can often be repaired, and where one cannot, we say so.

What are HSP and LSP?
They are the high and low temperature limits on the display. When the box crosses one, the display flashes and the alarm sounds. The display and alarm keep working that way.
How do I find the model on my box?
Look for the data plate. A UL model such as UDS-4 may appear there. Read it to us along with the label on the refrigeration system.
