Repairs this series usually needs

  1. Case not cold enough
  2. Dirty condenser and blocked airflow
  3. Frost build-up and defrost trouble
  4. Controller probe or display problems
  5. Condensate or drain overflow

The Oasis self-service cases include the FSE end caps, the FSI islands and the HEFSC multi-purpose case. They sit in grocery stores, delis and convenience stores, and they use Carel or Dixell controllers depending on the case.

The cases are designed for store conditions of either Type I, 75 F and 55 percent humidity, or Type II, 80 F and 60 percent humidity. The FSE45R rating plate shows R513A refrigerant.

We start with the set point, ambient conditions, condenser and airflow, then defrost, and then the controller and probes. We say plainly when something is outside what the case was designed for.

FAQStructural Concepts Oasis Self-Service Display Cases questions
Which controller does my case use?

Structural Concepts uses Carel PJEZ, ir33 or iJF controllers, or Dixell XM670K to XM679K, depending on the case. The model number helps us confirm which.

What is Type I and Type II?

They are store condition ratings. Type I is 75 F and 55 percent humidity. Type II is 80 F and 60 percent humidity. Cases perform best inside their rating.

Why does my case frost up?

High store humidity, door traffic and defrost settings all add frost. We check defrost and the drain, and the controller settings, along with store conditions.
