The G, GF and U Series are Garland’s gas restaurant ranges. You find the model on the data plate, such as a G36-6R, GF36-G36R or U36-4G12R. The GF models add flame-failure protection to a pilot-lit range, so a pilot that goes out shuts off the gas to that burner or oven instead of leaving it open.
Most calls involve pilot outages, ovens that get hotter or cooler than the dial, and burner ports clogged by spills. We clean burners and pilot tubes, test the pilot safety on GF models, and check the oven thermostat against a reference thermometer.
If you ever smell gas, walk out and notify the utility. Older Garland ranges are on our repair list, and a repair that makes no sense gets a straight answer.

What does the F in GF mean?
It marks flame-failure protection. If the pilot goes out, the gas to the burner is shut off. We test that safety when we service a GF range.
My oven temperature is off. Can you fix it?
Yes. We check the oven against a reference thermometer, then adjust or replace the thermostat. You receive the price in writing before the job, and our labor has 30 days of coverage.
