The MKE is MagiKitch’n’s electric griddle, with a 1 in. Plate. Models include MKE-24-E, MKE-24-ST and MKE-36-E, and it runs on 208 or 240 volts, single or three phase. The -E has an electric thermostat that runs from 200F to 550F, and the -ST has a solid state thermostat that runs from 150F to 550F.
When an MKE will not heat, we check the supply and breaker, then the thermostat and the elements. Uneven heat points to an element or a thermostat that is out of calibration. Food that steams instead of searing can mean moisture on the food or heat set too low.
Let the plate cool before you clean it. Older electric griddles are repaired with the price in writing first, and we flag any repair that would not pay.

Why is my food steaming instead of searing?
The food may hold too much moisture, or the heat may be set too low. If the setting is right and the plate is still cool, a thermostat or element needs a check.

Yes. Older MagiKitch'n electric griddles are within our service. We quote in writing and flag a repair that is not worth doing. Our labor has a 30-day warranty.
