Repairs this series usually needs
- Pilot out
- Hearth not holding temperature
- Uneven bake
The Super Deck Y series are Bakers Pride floor-model gas deck ovens. The data plate shows the model, such as a Y-600, Y-800, Y-602 or Y-800BL-DSP. Each deck is rated at 120,000 BTU per hour and uses a mechanical thermostat, so there are no error codes to read.
Gas pressure matters on these ovens: the manifold should be 3.5 in. W.C. On natural gas and 10 in. W.C. On LP. A deck that sags in temperature gets its pilot, safety parts, thermostat and manifold pressure checked in turn. If the bake is uneven, the burners and the hearth are next.
With any gas odor, leave the building and notify the utility from a safe place. We repair older Y series ovens and give a written price before work.
About this series
- Floor-model gas deck ovens
- 120,000 BTU per hour per deck
- Mechanical thermostat
- Natural gas manifold at 3.5 in. W.C. And LP at 10 in. W.C.
Does a Super Deck have error codes?
No. The thermostat is mechanical, so there is no display to read. We work from what the oven does, checking the pilot, thermostat, burners and gas pressure.
What gas pressure does the Y series use?
Manifold pressure should read 3.5 in. W.C. For natural gas, while LP is set higher, at 10 in. W.C. We measure it when an oven will not hold heat. Gas work is not for owners.
Is an older Super Deck worth repairing?
Often yes, since these ovens are built to last. Expect a price on paper before we start, and a frank opinion if the oven is beyond repair.
