Repairs this series usually needs

  1. Blade that does not turn
  2. Dull cuts or sharpener problems
  3. Carriage drag
  4. Auto-stroke problems on S models
  5. Motor overload

Univex makes slicers from economy to premium: 4612, 6612M, 8713M, 8713S, 1000M and 1000S. The M and S endings mark the carriage type, manual or automatic, and the full model number is on the data plate.

Switch the slicer off at the plug before any cleaning, and keep your hands behind the guards. If the blade will not turn, we check the belt and motor. On S models, the automatic stroke is checked as well, since the drive, the switch or the linkage can each stop it.

Univex slicers range from economy to premium, so a repair that makes sense on one may not on another. We give a written price first, and we are plain with you about which side of that line your slicer falls on.

FAQUnivex Manual and Automatic Slicers questions
What do M and S mean?

They mark the carriage type. Check the full model number on the data plate and tell us when you call, so we know whether the stroke is manual or automatic.

Why does the auto stroke fail on an S model?

The drive, the switch or the linkage can each stop it, and we test them in turn. We run several strokes to confirm the repair.

How do I tell a manual Univex slicer from an automatic one?

The M and S endings mark the carriage type. Read the full number on the data plate, and give it to us when you call so we confirm the right parts.
