Blakeslee Conveyor Dishwasher Error Code B2: Boiler 1 Probe Failure

B2 BOILER 1 PROBE FAILURE means the boiler 1 temperature probe has failed and the rated temperature cannot be reached. The manual says to suspend washing and contact Technical Service. A service technician should test the probe.

Medium · inspection needed

High: the rinse temperature cannot be confirmed, so washing is suspended.

What does Blakeslee error code B2 mean?

A conveyor dishwasher heats its final rinse water in a boiler, and the control relies on a probe in boiler 1 to know the temperature. When the probe signal is lost or not believable, the control cannot confirm that the rinse is hot enough, and it shows B2 BOILER 1 PROBE FAILURE. The manual adds that the rated temperature cannot be reached, which is the practical effect: with no usable reading the control cannot reach or prove the correct rinse temperature. The instruction is to suspend washing and contact Technical Service. This is a sensor alarm, so the heater itself may be fine. It is separate from B3, where boiler 1 is not heating, and from B5, where it is too hot. Conveyor machines run continuously through a shift, so a rinse that cannot be verified is a serious interruption.

Affected models and control systems

Blakeslee RC-series rack conveyor dishwasher. The PDF is Blakeslee's RC44 User Manual and prints no model name; the same alarm list appears in the RC62 manual.

Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.

What you may notice

  • B2 BOILER 1 PROBE FAILURE on the display
  • Rinse water cold or inconsistent
  • Rated rinse temperature not reached
  • Alarm returns after restart

Possible causes

Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code B2 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.

  • Boiler 1 probe open or shorted
  • Probe lead damaged near the boiler
  • Probe connector corroded by steam
  • Probe input on the control not reading the sensor

Safe checks before calling for service

✓ What an operator can do
  1. Suspend washing, as the manual says.
  2. Turn the machine off and on once to see whether the alarm remains.
  3. Do not run racks through while the rinse temperature cannot be confirmed.
  4. Keep clear of the boiler, which stays hot.
  5. Note the exact display and the time the alarm began.

How a technician diagnoses error code B2

  1. Read the alarm history and confirm B2 is active.
  2. Measure the boiler 1 probe resistance with power locked out and compare it with the boiler temperature.
  3. Inspect the lead and connector for heat and moisture damage.
  4. Substitute a known resistance at the control input.
  5. Replace the probe, lead or board according to which fails, then verify the rinse reaches temperature.
! Leave this to a technician
  • The probe is mounted in a hot pressurized boiler.
  • Its connector and control are reached through panels near live wiring.
  • Proving a probe against a board input needs a meter and a reference resistance.

How error code B2 differs from similar codes

B2 is the boiler 1 probe. The same machine also reports B3 for no heating, B5 for over-temperature and B10 for a low rinse temperature.

B2Questions about Blakeslee error code B2
Does B2 mean the rinse is cold?

Not necessarily. It means the control can no longer read the temperature, so it cannot confirm that it is hot enough.

Can I keep the line running?

The manual says to suspend washing. Continuing risks rinsing at an unverified temperature.

Is B2 the same as B10?

No. B10 reports a measured low rinse temperature. B2 reports that the probe itself failed.
