Blakeslee Conveyor Dishwasher Error Code E2: Wash 1 Probe Failure
E2 WASH1 PROBE FAILURE means the probe of wash tank 1 has failed, and washing results may be affected. The manual says to contact Technical Service. A service technician should test the probe.
Medium: washing results may be affected, but the cause is a sensor rather than a safety condition.

What does Blakeslee error code E2 mean?
Wash tank 1 has a temperature probe that tells the control how hot the wash water is, so it can switch the tank heater on and off. If the probe signal goes missing or does not make sense, the control cannot regulate the tank and shows E2 WASH1 PROBE FAILURE. The manual states that washing results may be affected, and its only instruction is to contact Technical Service. Because the alarm names the probe, the heater may be perfectly healthy; the problem is that the control has lost its eyes. Wash water that runs too cold leaves soil on the dishes, and uncontrolled heat can run too high. E3 is the matching alarm for wash tank 1 not heating, and E5 for over-temperature.

- Probe connector corroded by steam and detergent
- Control input not reading the probe
Safe checks before calling for service
- Turn the machine off and on once to see whether E2 remains.
- Check the quality of washed dishes if you must run, and rewash anything that looks dirty.
- Do not reach into the tank.
- Keep the area dry.
- Note the display text and any other alarm that appeared with it.
How a technician diagnoses error code E2
- Read the alarm history and confirm E2 is active.
- Measure the probe resistance at the connector with power locked out and compare it with the water temperature.
- Inspect the lead and connector for damage and corrosion.
- Substitute a known resistance at the control input.
- Replace the probe, lead or board according to the test.
- The probe sits in a tank of hot, treated water.
- Its connector and the control are reached through panels near live wiring.
- Separating a failed probe from a failed board input needs a meter and a reference resistance.
How error code E2 differs from similar codes
E2 is the wash tank 1 probe. M2 is the same alarm for the prewash probe.
