Repairs this series usually needs

  1. No heat or no flame
  2. Flame that burns but dries slowly
  3. Burner that lights and then shuts off
  4. Basket that does not turn
  5. Coins inserted with no response

The Dexter coin dryers range from the T-30 to the T-120, and the stacked versions are the T-20×2, T-30×2 and T-50×2. All are gas coin-operated tumble dryers with a C-Series or O-Series control. The number on the data plate tells us the size.

No heat sends us to the ignition control, the airflow switch, the fuse, the spark electrode and the temperature probe. A flame that burns but dries slowly points to lint screens, makeup air and gas pressure. A burner that lights and then goes out leads us to the ignition harness and the gas valve. A basket that does not turn leads to the belt, motor and door switch.

We repair Dexter dryers. The estimate is on paper before the work, and a dryer too old for a sensible repair gets an honest answer.

FAQDexter T-30 to T-120 Coin Dryers and Stacked Models questions
Why does my Dexter dryer give no heat?

It can be the ignition control, the airflow switch, a fuse, the spark electrode or the temperature probe. We test them in order, beginning with the airflow switch and the fuse, which are the cheapest to check.

Why does the dryer take coins but not start?

The transformer, the door switch or the membrane switch may be the cause. We check those and the coin drop, because a dryer can accept coins and still not see a closed door.

Do you repair the stacked T-30x2 and T-50x2 dryers?

Yes. We find which pocket has the problem, repair it and test both. Comparing a pocket that works with one that does not is often the quickest way to the cause of the trouble.
