Repairs this series usually needs
- Grinder makes noise but does not grind
- Foreign object in the grinding mechanism
- Power plug or power supply problems
- Worn burrs after heavy use
The Ditting 804 series is the smaller family of shop grinders, with the KR 804, the KF 804 and the K 804 LAB. They are an older line, and a fair number are still grinding shops and offices.
The grinders are mechanical, so they do not show codes. If one runs and does not grind, a clogged spout or too fine a grind is the first suspect, and setting the coarsest grind is the first thing to try. A foreign object, power plug trouble or a worn burr set are the next suspects.
We repair them, and an old grinder that is not worth the repair gets an honest answer. Owners keep to brushing and cleaning the spout.

Which models are in the 804 series?
The KR 804, the KF 804 and the K 804 LAB. The name is on the data plate and tells us which parts apply to your grinder, so read it to us when you call.
Why is my 804 grinder noisy?
A clogged spout, a grind that is too fine or a foreign object can make noise. Try the coarsest grind, and call us if it persists.
Is an older Ditting worth repairing?
Often, since they are mechanical and sturdy. The quote is written first, and a repair that costs more than the grinder is worth gets a straight answer.
