The Globe economy slicers, the C9, C10 and C12, are light-duty machines with knives from 9 to 12 inches. They are for low daily volume in small delis, cafes and kitchens. The model number is on the data plate, and it tells us the knife size.
Light-duty slicers do not like all-day use. We check the belt, the motor and the knife edge, and we watch for overload trips from long stretches of cold product. Unplug the slicer before cleaning, and never reach past the guards to wipe the knife.
Economy slicers are built for light use, so a repair is not always the right answer. We give a written price first, and if a new slicer would serve you better than the repair, we tell you that plainly.

Is an economy slicer meant for all-day use?
No. It is built for lower volume. Heavy use leads to motor overload trips and belt wear, so a busier shop may need a heavier slicer.
Why do my cuts look torn?
A dull knife is the usual cause, and we sharpen or replace it and check the gauge plate. Even slices on a test run show it is right again.
Can I use an economy slicer all day?
It is made for lower volume, so long stretches of cold product can overload the motor and wear the belt. A heavier slicer may suit a busy counter better, and we can advise.
