The ICE series is the older Ice-O-Matic cuber family, and many of these cubers are still in service. Models range from ICE0250 and ICE0305 through ICE1006, ICE1406, ICE1806 and ICE2106, and the ICEU machines are the undercounter versions. A suffix of A, W or R shows air-cooled, water-cooled or remote-cooled.
These machines have no board that flashes codes. They rely on relays, a cube size control and a bin thermostat, with troubleshooting based on testing each part in turn. That makes careful testing more important, because there is no code to point to the problem.
We check water supply, scale and condenser airflow, then the start parts, valves and controls. We tell you plainly when an older unit is not worth a repair.

Why are there no codes?
The ICE series uses relays and thermostats instead of a display board. We diagnose it by testing parts one at a time, which takes a little longer.
Is an ICE series machine still repairable?
Often yes, especially for start parts, valves and water problems. We give a written price and tell you honestly if the cost is too high for the machine.
What is an ICEU?
It is the undercounter version of the ICE series. Tight cabinets trap heat, so we look at airflow around the unit early in the visit.
