The GIGA X8 is a professional super-automatic from Jura, with twin bean containers, a dual spout and a CLEARYL Pro Smart filter cartridge. The North American version runs on 120 volts at 1500 watts. The line includes the GIGA X8, the GIGA X8c and the GIGA X8 G2, and the owner’s manual lists JURA Type 748.
Most messages on this machine are operator prompts: fill the water tank, empty the grounds container and drip tray, close the front cover, clean the milk system, change the filter. We look at the sensors behind them when a prompt will not clear. Error 2 and Error 5 usually follow cold exposure, and the machine needs to warm up before it heats.

What do Error 2 and Error 5 mean?
The owner's manual says that after long exposure to cold the machine may disable heating for safety. Warm it at room temperature. If it persists, switch off and call us.
Why does the drip tray message not clear?
Wet or dirty tray contacts can read as a full or missing tray. Dry them and seat the tray firmly. If it stays, we test the sensor.
Is hard water a concern for a GIGA X8?
Change the filter cartridge when asked and descale when the machine prompts. We check for scale on a service visit.
