Taylor Slush Machine Error Code CO2 Pressure Low: Out of CO2
On the Taylor C300 slush freezer, CO2 Pressure Low means the CO2 out indicator shows a lack of carbon dioxide. After a 60 second timer both freezing cylinders shut down, and the message clears when CO2 is replenished. Check the tank, open its valve, and look along the line.
Medium: both cylinders stop freezing, but the usual cause is a simple supply that can be restored.

What does Taylor CO2 Pressure Low mean?
A carbonated slush needs CO2 mixed in, and the C300 has a CO2 out indicator that senses when the supply has run dry. When it does, the control starts a 60 second timer. If the supply is not restored during that time, both freezing cylinders shut down and the display shows CO2 Pressure Low. The product in both barrels stops freezing, which is why an empty tank has a bigger effect than it seems. The message clears when CO2 is replenished, with no reset needed. The manual lists the CO2 tank level, the CO2 tank valve and regulator, the CO2 line for leaks or kinks, and the CO2 out sensor. Most of the time the tank is simply empty or its valve is closed, and the sensor is only the cause when CO2 is clearly present and the message stays. A leak in the line is another possibility, and escaping gas is not to be handled by staff.

What you may notice
- CO2 Pressure Low appears and both cylinders stop freezing
- Drinks come out flat or not at all
- The tank gauge reads empty or the valve is closed
Possible causes
Listed in Taylor's documentation
- The CO2 tank level
- The CO2 tank valve and regulator
- The CO2 line for leaks or kinks
- The CO2 out sensor
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind CO2 Pressure Low on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A tank swapped by a delivery driver and left with its valve shut
- A regulator set too low for the line length to the machine
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check the CO2 tank and replace it if it is empty.
- Make sure the CO2 tank valve is open.
- Look along the CO2 line for kinks or a loose fitting. Do not handle a leaking cylinder; step away and call your gas supplier.
- If the message stays with CO2 present, call us and tell us the tank pressure reading.
How a technician diagnoses CO2 Pressure Low
- Read the message and confirm the CO2 tank level and valve position.
- Check the regulator setting and output pressure.
- Inspect the CO2 line for kinks, leaks and loose fittings.
- Check the CO2 out sensor reading with CO2 present.
- Verify the machine restarts after the supply is restored.
- Replace the sensor or regulator only after the test.
- CO2 cylinders and regulators hold high pressure and need trained handling.
- A leaking CO2 line can displace air in a small room, which is a health hazard.
- Testing the CO2 sensor means meter work on powered control wiring.

Why do both cylinders stop?
After the 60 second timer, the control shuts down both freezing cylinders because CO2 is needed for the product.
Will the message clear itself?
Yes, it clears when CO2 is replenished.
What if the tank is full and the message stays?
Then the sensor, regulator or line should be checked by a technician.
