Huebsch Quantum Washer Error Code EI0C: Infrared Time-Out Exceeded
EI0C reports that an infrared exchange ran past its allowed time. The cycles you already set are not erased, so aim the handheld at the control again, hold it still, and start the transfer over.
Low: the infrared session ended early and the washer is otherwise unaffected.
What does Huebsch error code EI0C mean?
Each infrared exchange with a Quantum washer is given a fixed period to finish. The control keeps a clock on the whole session, not only on single replies. When the exchange takes longer than that period, the control ends it and shows EI0C. This differs from EI02, where a reply never came: here the conversation was going, but too slowly. The wash circuits are not touched, and the cycles you set before remain in place. Owners see the code at the end of a transfer that dragged on, often because the handheld was moved and the link broke and restarted several times. A large file, a hazy window that forces resends, or a weak device can all stretch the session past its limit. When transfers keep running long even with steady aim and a healthy device, the control's receiver is what a technician will test.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to Quantum frontload washers in the FLW1535C family and Quantum topload washers in the TLW13C family, including Huebsch units.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- EI0C appears at the end of a slow transfer
- The handheld shows the exchange stalled and restarted
- Saved cycles remain unchanged
Possible causes
Listed in Huebsch's documentation
- Handheld not held steady until the end
- Infrared window or the device's emitter dirty
- Size or condition of the file being sent
- Control receiver causing slow transfers
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code EI0C on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A partly clouded window that forces the packets to be resent repeatedly
- A file with many cycles being sent in one session with the handheld at the edge of its range
Safe checks before calling for service
- Aim the external device at the control and start the transfer again.
- Keep the device in place until the transfer is completely done.
- Try again with the washer idle and the door closed.
- If EI0C returns, write down the file you sent and ask us to test the link.
How a technician diagnoses error code EI0C
- Read the code and note how long transfers take on this washer.
- Clean the control window and the handheld emitter.
- Send a smaller file with a steadied device to see whether the session completes in time.
- Compare with a second handheld on a fresh battery.
- If transfers still overrun, test the receiver and replace the board only after that.
- The infrared receiver sits behind the front panel, beside live 208 to 240 V wiring.
- Slow transfers can be the device, the file or the receiver, and sorting them out needs a known-good handheld.
- Interrupted writes may leave programming incomplete, which has to be checked against the washer's own data.
How error code EI0C differs from similar codes
EI0C means the whole session overran, while EI02 means a single reply never came.

Did EI0C erase my cycles?
No. The message does not delete the cycles already stored.
Why does the transfer run long?
Usually because the link broke and restarted when the device moved.
Is EI0C the same as EI02?
No. EI02 is a missing reply, and EI0C is a session that took too long.
