True’s horizontal freezers use TFM, TDC and THDC prefixes: chest freezers, ice-cream dipping cabinets and their glass-top versions. They are controlled either electronically or with a mechanical thermostat, depending on the model. Read the plate on your cabinet to confirm the exact model.
Chest freezers hold cold air well, but the lid gasket and the hinges carry all the wear. A dipping cabinet opens many times a day, so frost and drain problems show up fast. We check the lid seal first, then the thermostat or control, then the condenser, which collects lint in the open air of a service area.
Bring the plate number with you when you call and we match parts to it. On a dipping cabinet we also watch the drain during a defrost, since spilled product and meltwater can clog it quickly.
