Repairs this series usually needs
- Safety Limit 1 for a long freeze
- Safety Limit 2 for a long harvest
- Water loss lockout
- Scale on probes and the float switch
- Hot rooms and dirty condensers
The KT series is the current Koolaire cuber line, with models such as the KDT0500A, KDT1000N, KYT0700W and KYT1700A. A D in the model means dice cubes and a Y means half-dice. The letter after the T or P shows the refrigerant, and the last letter shows air-cooled, water-cooled or remote.
The control board uses a flashing Service light for Safety Limit 1, which is a freeze that reached 60 minutes. SL#2 shows long harvests, and SL#1 and SL#2 flashing together mean water loss. The reset is pressing On/Off and starting a new cycle.
We check water supply and scale, the probe and float switch, the condenser and the sealed system. The maker allows air up to 110 F, so kitchens deserve a look at heat.

How do I reset a safety limit?
Press the On/Off button and start a new ice making cycle. If the light flashes again, the cause is still present and we need to find it.
What is the ice bridge?
It is the thin layer of ice joining the cubes. The float switch is factory-set for one-eighth inch, and scale or a wrong setting makes the cubes uneven.
What do the model letters mean?
D means dice and Y means half-dice cubes. T and P show the refrigerant, and A, W or N at the end show cooling type. The data plate has the rest.
