The MBC is a Marsal combination oven that stacks an MB brick-lined oven on top of an SD deck oven. The model on the data plate, such as an MBC 660 or MBC 1060, tells us the size. Because the two decks are different ovens, a problem on one deck does not always affect the other.
That is the first thing we check: which deck is acting up. The top MB deck and the bottom SD deck each have a thermostat, a safety valve and a pilot. We test the parts on the deck with the problem and check the other deck for comparison. Uneven baking leads us to the burners and the hearth.

Why is only one deck of my MBC oven cold?
The two decks have their own pilots, valves and thermostats. A cold deck usually points to that deck's pilot, safety valve or thermostat. We test those parts in order.
Can I use the good deck while the other is repaired?
Often you can, but we advise turning both decks off if gas is ever noticed, then getting everyone outside and calling the utility from there.
Do you repair older MBC ovens?
Yes. Plenty of older MBC combination ovens still bake daily, and they are on our service list. The cost reaches you in writing first, and we are blunt if the repair would not pay off.
