The RFS and RCS ovens are older Amana commercial microwave ovens that run on 120 V 60 Hz. The models are RFS12TS, RFS12TSW, MFS12TS, RCS10TS and MCS10TS. They are microwave only, so they do not have the convection and infrared sections of the Xpress ovens.

These ovens are diagnosed by testing rather than by display codes. Typical calls: no heat from the microwave, a door that is not detected, an unresponsive keypad, or an oven running hot. The microwave circuit holds high voltage, so we test it with proper tools.

These are older ovens. Repair makes sense on many of them, the price is written first, and we say so when it does not. Tell us the model on the label when you call.

Do the RFS and RCS ovens show error codes?

The manuals we follow do not list a display error table for them. We diagnose by testing the magnetron, the door switches and the control.

Is a commercial microwave worth repairing?

Sometimes. A door switch or control repair is often reasonable. A magnetron or transformer repair costs more, which we explain before we start. Either way, you decide after seeing the quote.

Can I replace the door switch myself?

No. The door switches protect against microwave leakage and sit near high voltage inside the oven. We replace them, test the oven afterward and write the price before the work.
