Repairs this series usually needs
- Bowl lift or gear problems

- Motor overload trips
- Grease leaking from the gear case
- Guard or switch problems
The B-20 is Blakeslee’s 20 quart bench planetary mixer. It comes in variants such as the B-20-SS, B-20-CA, B-20-CS and B-20-D, and the letters in the model matter when we match parts. Find the model on the machine’s data plate.
When a B-20 slows or stops, we check the belt, the gears and the motor first. A belt that slips, a motor that trips its overload and grease at the gear case are the common signs. We also test the bowl guard and its switch. A mixer on a bench can walk if its mounting is loose, so we look at that too.
Never reach into the bowl while the mixer is connected to power. Switch it off at the breaker before anyone looks, and call us. You hear the cost before we start.

What do the letters after B-20 mean?
They mark the variant, such as SS, CA, CS or D. Look at the data plate for the full model; we order parts by it.
Why does my bench mixer slow down?
A belt that slips, a heavy dough load or a worn gear can all slow it. We check each, and quote the cost before any work.
Is a small mixer worth repairing?
Often yes. Many bench mixers are worth repairing when the parts are simple. We say so when a repair costs more than the mixer is worth, and the cost comes first.
