Repairs this series usually needs
- Proofer that will not reach humidity
- Retarder that does not cool
- Control that shows a sensor problem
- Door gasket leaks
The Doyon DRP and DRPR series are proofers and retarder proofers: DRP1, DRP3, DRP4, DRP4S, DRPR3, DRPR4, DRPR4S and the DRPPT. An R marks a retarder. Some are current and others are older units that bakers here have kept working for years.
We start with the water supply, the element and the thermostat, then the humidity control and the door gasket. On a retarder we check the refrigeration side. Heat, steam and humid weather wear on gaskets and controls, and scale in the pan holds steam back.
The DRP line includes older cabinets that bakers have kept going for years. A written price comes first, and we tell you plainly when the cost of a repair is more than the cabinet is worth.

What is the difference between a DRP and a DRPR?
The DRP is a proofer and the DRPR is a retarder proofer that can also hold dough cold. Have the plate in front of you when you book.
Why is my proofer slow to warm?
A weak element, a thermostat out of range or a door that leaks heat can all slow warming. We check each and tell you what we find.
Why does dough proof unevenly in my cabinet?
Uneven heat or humidity usually points to a weak element, a worn gasket or a water pan that has run low. We check each of them.
