Repairs this series usually needs

  1. Jar light or temperature light that stays on
  2. Motor that stops from overheating
  3. Container that leaks
  4. Noise from a worn drive

The Hamilton Beach Tempest HBH650 is a bar blender with jar and temperature lights. Some are current and others are older units still working behind bars.

The lights tell us what the blender senses: whether the jar is seated and whether the motor is hot. Cord out of the wall first, then the jar, and never put a hand near the blade. A motor that stops may have overheated, and a leak at the base points to the blade assembly seal. A dedicated 15 amp circuit is recommended.

The jar and temperature lights give us clues about what the blender senses. A written price comes first, and we tell you plainly when a repair is not worth it. We check the sensor magnets on the jar too.

FAQHamilton Beach Tempest HBH650 Bar Blenders questions
What do the lights show?

One shows whether the jar is seated and one shows motor temperature. Write down which one is lit when you call, since it tells us where to start.

Why does my blender stop?

The motor may have overheated. Let it cool, use a dedicated circuit, and call us if it keeps stopping on light loads. Tell us which light came on.

Does the HBH650 need a dedicated circuit?

A dedicated 15 amp circuit is recommended. Sharing a circuit can trip the breaker or make the blender stop. Tell us what else shares the outlet, because that matters.
