What does Kolpak DOOR TEMP HIGH mean?
The controller watches a door temperature sensor and compares it with a limit built from three settings added together: DOOR TEMP, DOOR TEMP DIFF and HI DOOR ALR OFST. Only a reading above that sum counts. Even then the alarm does not appear at once. The reading has to stay above the limit for longer than DOOR TMP ALR DLY. When both conditions are met, the text alarm DOOR TEMP HIGH appears in the Alarms menu. The delay filters out a short rise such as a door opened for loading. The alarm is about temperature at the door, which is often the warmest part of a walk-in because of air leaking past the gasket or the door being opened often. The manual lists no causes. The sound returns after the one-hour silence if the temperature remains high.

Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind DOOR TEMP HIGH on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Door left open or not latching, letting warm air reach the sensor
- Worn gasket or damaged door sweep letting air leak past
- Door heater or frame heater not working, if one is installed
- Offset or delay set tightly for the amount of door traffic
Safe checks before calling for service
- Close and latch the door, and clear anything holding it open.
- Press ENTER to silence the alarm. It stays quiet for 1 hour and returns if the temperature stays high.
- Look at the gasket and bottom sweep for gaps or tears.
- Note the door temperature shown on the Display and how often the door is opened.
How a technician diagnoses DOOR TEMP HIGH
- Read DOOR TEMP, DOOR TEMP DIFF, HI DOOR ALR OFST and DOOR TMP ALR DLY from the controller.
- Compare the door temperature on the Display with a reference thermometer.
- Inspect gasket, hinges, latch and any door heater.
- Verify the sensor reading is accurate.
- Adjust hardware first, and settings only if traffic really needs them.
- Door heaters and frame wiring are live circuits behind trim.
- Offset and delay settings need the room's design values and the controller menus.
- A door seal repair on an insulated walk-in door needs trade tools and parts.

Is the whole walk-in warm?
Not necessarily. The alarm refers to the door temperature sensor, which can read warm while the room is fine.
How long must the temperature stay high?
Longer than DOOR TMP ALR DLY. The manual does not give a number.
Will closing the door end the alarm?
If the door was the cause, the temperature should drop and the alarm condition should end. Silencing alone does not do it.
