What does Kolpak DISPLAY AUX3 SENSOR mean?
The Deluxe Display carries its own auxiliary inputs, and AUX3 is the third. When its function is a temperature input, the controller expects a sensor and converts the sensor's resistance to a temperature. A short and an open circuit both fall outside the range a working sensor can produce. When the Display sees either on AUX3, it posts the text alarm DISPLAY AUX3 SENSOR in the Alarms menu. The wording tells you three things at once: it is the Display and not the Main board, it is input number three, and the input is set up for temperature. The alarm says nothing about actual temperature. Any monitor alarm relying on that input, such as HIGH MONITOR TEMP3 or LOW MONITOR TEMP3, is blind until the circuit is fixed. The alarm returns after the one-hour silence if the circuit has not been repaired.

Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind DISPLAY AUX3 SENSOR on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Sensor on Display AUX3 unplugged or its cable cut
- Cable squeezed by a shelf, door or conduit clamp
- Moisture in the connector of the sensor
- Input set to temperature although no sensor was ever installed
Safe checks before calling for service
- Press ENTER to silence the alarm for 1 hour. It sounds again if the circuit is not repaired.
- Look along any visible sensor cable for a break or a crushed section. Do not pull it.
- Think about whether anyone moved shelving or cleaned near the sensor lately.
- Write down DISPLAY AUX3 SENSOR and the time for the technician.
How a technician diagnoses DISPLAY AUX3 SENSOR
- Check the Display AUX3 Function setting.
- Inspect the sensor, connector and cable.
- Meter resistance against the sensor chart, then test the cable for continuity and shorts to ground.
- Replace the sensor or repair the cable and confirm a normal reading.
- The sensor lands inside the Display, which an operator should not open.
- Meter testing against a resistance chart separates a bad sensor from a bad cable.
- Changing the function setting changes alarms and must follow the install record.

Is this the same as AUX3 SENSOR?
No. AUX3 SENSOR is for the Main board input. This alarm is for the Display input.
Why is monitoring affected?
Monitor alarms read the sensor on this input. If the circuit is bad, they have no real reading.
Does it stop the room from cooling?
The manual does not say so. It describes a sensor circuit alarm only.
