What does Kolpak DISP EXTERNAL ALARM 1 mean?
The Deluxe Display has its own auxiliary inputs, apart from the Main board. When AUX1 FUNCTION on the Display is set to EXT ALARM, a contact connected there is treated as an alarm line. The controller reads the digital input. If the input is active, the text alarm DISP EXTERNAL ALARM 1 appears in the Alarms menu. The DISP in the name matters because it tells you the signal came in on the Display and not on the Main board, which has its own EXTERNAL ALARM 1. The controller does not know what the connected device is or how serious the condition might be. The alarm stays as long as the input is active. ENTER silences the sound for one hour, after which it returns if the input has not changed. The real work is to identify the device wired to Display AUX1.

How a technician diagnoses DISP EXTERNAL ALARM 1
- Check that Display AUX1 FUNCTION is EXT ALARM.
