The control counts the time the door has been open. After 5 minutes it starts the door alert: a tone for several seconds every minute, and dr on the display. The alert tells you the cabinet is losing cold air to the room. Closing the door ends the alert and resets it; there is nothing to clear on the control. If the alert returns right away with the door shut, the door may not be sealing or the door switch may not be registering. A gasket pinched by a bottle, a shelf pushed forward, or a door left resting on a ledge can all read as open. The alert is a reminder, and it is not a measure of temperature, so a long door open may need the cabinet time to recover afterward before the contents are cold again.
