What does U-Line error code E0 mean?
On dual-zone models the control keeps track of each door separately. E0 stands for Door 1, the upper door. The control logs door errors in memory, but only door errors are shown on the display and announced with an audible signal. Closing the door ends it. The manual also describes a service mode where the error log can be viewed, which a technician uses to see whether E0 has been recurring. A pattern of E0 with the door shut points toward the door switch, the gasket seal or alignment of the upper door, not the control. The upper door is the one that carries E0 and the lower is E9, so on a dual-zone unit the code tells you which door to look at. Because the cabinet has two separate temperature zones, an upper door left open mostly warms the upper compartment, while the lower zone keeps cooling at its own set point. Once the door is shut, the upper zone has to recover its temperature, and that can take a while after a long open period.
