What does Kolpak EMAIL FEATURE mean?
Some ArcticFox setups can send an email when an alarm occurs. After the controller sends a message it waits for the email server to confirm that the message was accepted. If confirmation does not come, the controller tries again. After 7 consecutive attempts without a confirmation it gives up on that message and posts the text alarm EMAIL FEATURE in the Alarms menu. This alarm is therefore about the notification path, not the room: the controller could not hand its alert to the server. It does not say whether the problem is the network connection, the server, or the email settings. A side effect worth knowing is that other alarms that were supposed to be emailed may not have reached anyone either. The alarm sounds again after the one-hour silence if the condition is still there.

Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind EMAIL FEATURE on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Network connection to the controller down because of a router or switch problem
- Email server address, login, or port entered incorrectly or changed since setup
- Email server rejecting or not acknowledging messages from the controller
- Network cable or adapter at the controller loose or disconnected
Safe checks before calling for service
- Press ENTER to silence the alarm. It stays quiet for 1 hour and returns if emails are still failing.
- Check whether other devices on the same network have internet access.
- Look at the network cable at the controller from outside, without opening panels, and note if the link light is on.
- Tell the technician whether alert emails stopped arriving and when, and who manages your network.
How a technician diagnoses EMAIL FEATURE
- Read the email settings stored in the controller and compare with the server's requirements.
- Confirm the controller has a working network link and a valid address.
- Check with the network administrator that the email server accepts messages from the controller.
- Send a test message if the controller supports one and watch for server confirmation.
- Correct the setting or network problem, then confirm the alarm stays clear.
- Email and network settings must match your IT setup, so a technician and your network administrator both need to be involved.
- Opening the controller to inspect its network connection means working near live circuits.
- A wrong entry in the email settings can stop every alert from reaching you.

Does EMAIL FEATURE mean my walk-in is too warm?
No. It means the controller could not get an alert email confirmed by the server. Check the room temperature yourself.
Could I be missing other alarm emails?
Yes. If the server is not confirming messages, other alerts may not be delivered either. Watch the display until it is fixed.
What does 7 consecutive attempts mean?
The controller tried to send the message seven times in a row without a confirmation, and then raised this alarm.
