What does Ovention CHECK FANS indicator light mean?
The CHECK FANS light is on the front of the oven, on the right side of the oven chamber, and it warns that the cooling air is not doing its job. The manual lists four causes: a jet plate or air flow malfunction, ambient air above 95 F (35 C) with the light illuminating above 120 F (49 C), dirty air filters, and a cooling fan malfunction. The air filters are the one thing the operator can handle, using the monthly cleaning procedure. The other causes need a service agent or the Ovention hotline. After the cause is dealt with, the light should go out once the ambient temperature stays below 120 F (49 C). So a hot kitchen alone can keep the light on. A line oven close to fryers and grills can see ambient temperature climb during a busy service, which makes the light appear at the same time every day.
