Repairs this series usually needs
- Case not holding temperature
- Dirty condenser and blocked airflow
- Frost and defrost problems
- Condensate overflow
- Controller and probe trouble
Besides the SSRC and SSRVS lines, Federal makes other self-service case families, including the IMSS, LPRSS, TSSM, RSSD and VRSS. The names are family prefixes such as IMSS60, IMSS84, IMSS120, LPRSS6SC, TSSM2454SC-3 and RSSD360SC, and some of these cases are not refrigerated at all.
Because the families differ, the controls and the parts differ too. The most reliable way to identify a case is by reading the full model and serial number from the data plate. We then match it to the right family and plan the visit.
For refrigerated cases the common causes of a warm case are a dirty condenser, blocked airflow, heavy loading and frost on the evaporator, so those are our first checks. The full model and serial number let us match the case to the right family and parts.

The prefix tells us the family, but the digits and suffix tell us size and options. The full number lets us match parts before the visit.
Are all these cases refrigerated?
No. Some of these are non-refrigerated display cases. If yours is meant to be cold and is not cooling, tell us what you see and we check it.
What do you check first on a warm case?
The condenser, airflow and shelf loading, then defrost. Those cause most warm-case calls, and they are quick to check, so we start there on every visit.
