- Burners slow to light
The V Series is Vulcan’s heavy-duty line of gas restaurant ranges. The data plate shows the model, such as a V36, V60F or V4B36U, and it tells us which parts your range uses. Burner arrangements differ from model to model.
The service calls we hear most are about pilots that will not stay lit, burners with a weak or uneven flame, and ovens that get hotter or cooler than the dial says. Grease and food spills clog burner ports and pilot tubes, so cleaning is part of many repairs. We check the gas supply, the pilots and thermocouples, and the oven thermostat in turn.
The smell of gas at a range means getting out and notifying the utility. Older V Series ranges are on our repair list, and we are frank when a repair makes no sense.

Why will my range pilot not stay lit?
A dirty pilot tube, a weak thermocouple or a draft can all be the cause. We clean and test each one, and a gas odor sends you outdoors to notify the utility first.
How can I tell my V Series model?
Read the data plate. A number like V36 or V60F gives the width and layout. Tell us the full number so we bring the right parts.
Can you recalibrate an oven thermostat?
Yes. We check the oven against a reference thermometer and then adjust or replace the thermostat as needed. The price is written down before any of that work begins.
