Continental Girbau Washer Error Code ALn / U-00: Inverter Has No Power
ALn / U-00 reports a communication error between the inverter and the microprocessor, and the manual ties it to the inverter not getting its supply voltage. Power the washer off at its disconnect for a minute and restart. If it returns, a technician needs to check the inverter supply, the KA1 relay and the F6 fuse.
High: the drum cannot run without inverter power, so the washer is down until it is restored.

What does Continental Girbau error code ALn / U-00 mean?
On the E-Series Logi, LogiPro and Vended controls the drum motor is driven by an inverter, and the inverter will only talk to the microprocessor once it has power. At the start of a cycle the control closes the KA1 relay to feed the inverter. If the inverter stays dark, the microprocessor gets no answer on the digital link, concludes the drive is not there and halts the cycle with ALn / U-00 on the display. That is why the manual describes this code as a communication error that depends on the inverter supply. The sheet gives a short list of places to look: the motor discharge resistor and earth (ST-112), the voltage going into and out of the Z1 filter, the voltage at KA1 between terminals 4 and 8 right when the cycle starts, and the F6 fuse on the L1 inductance board. The two causes the manual names are a missing inverter supply and a wrong or blown F6 fuse.

Safe checks before calling for service
- Press stop, let the drum stop fully and wait for the door lock to release.
- Turn the washer off at its disconnect, wait a minute and turn it on again.
- Run a start command once more and see whether ALn / U-00 appears immediately or only after a delay.
- Leave the panels closed. Write down whether it fails at the very start of a cycle and mention any recent power outage or breaker trip.
How a technician diagnoses error code ALn / U-00
- Confirm the alarm and the control type, then check the discharge resistor and earth per ST-112.
- Measure voltage into and out of the Z1 filter.
- Check voltage at KA1, terminals 4 to 8, at the moment a cycle is started.
- Inspect the F6 fuse on the L1 inductance board for rating and continuity.
- If power is present at the inverter, move on to the communication harness before condemning the inverter.
- The measurements at Z1, KA1 and the L1 board are taken on live circuits inside the electrical section.
- A fuse that keeps blowing points to a short elsewhere, which needs the circuit traced rather than a new fuse put in.
- Earth ground and discharge resistor checks must be done by someone trained in inverter safety.

VAR 0 reports the same link loss but covers more causes, including dip switches; U-00 is specifically tied to the inverter supply and the F6 fuse.

Why does ALn / U-00 appear right at the start of a cycle?
That is when the control tries to power the inverter through the KA1 relay. If the inverter does not wake up, the alarm follows at once.
Is replacing the F6 fuse enough?
Only if the fuse was the whole problem. A fuse that was blown by a short will blow again, so the cause has to be found.
