Continental Girbau Washer Error Code ALn / U-39, U-41 to U-43, U-50, U-52, U-56
These U codes are inverter output and motor alarms: an internal inverter problem, a problem on one motor phase, a short in the motor or a short that trips the main breaker. Power the washer off for five minutes, as the manual advises, then restart once. If it returns, a technician must test the motor and inverter.

What does Continental Girbau error code ALn / U-39 mean?
This row groups seven numbers that each describe a different part of the inverter-to-motor path. U-39 is an internal inverter control problem. U-41, U-42 and U-43 each point to one of the three output phases going to the motor. U-50 and U-52 report a short in the motor or its windings, phase to phase, to the housing or at a klixon. U-56 is a short large enough to trip the main breaker. When the inverter detects one of these conditions it stops driving the motor, and the control displays the matching ALn / U- number. The manual's checks are the same for the group: input voltage in range with no brown-out, supply voltage to the KA1 relay, a clean inverter, motor wiring, the discharge resistor and earth, powering off for 5 minutes to reset, and measuring the U-V-W phase voltages and motor windings. Its causes are a brown-out or bad supply, a shorted motor or cable, and a bad inverter.

- Confirm input voltage is in range and there was no brown-out, and check the KA1 supply.

- Inspect the motor wiring and measure U-V-W phase voltages.
- Test the motor windings phase to phase and to the housing.
- Replace the motor, cable or inverter based on the readings.
- A breaker that trips on a short can mean a dangerous surge of current, so repeated resets are unsafe.
- Phase and winding tests are done on 208-240 V or higher conductors.
- Telling a shorted motor from a failed inverter needs insulation and continuity measurements.
