Continental Girbau Inteli Washer Error Code 10: Unidentified Inverter Failure
Code 10 is the default alarm code for EGO inverters when the failure is not identified. Restart the washer once. If it returns, a technician should run the same checks as for code 9.
High: the inverter has stopped for an unnamed reason and the washer is down.

What does Continental Girbau error code 10 mean?
Some inverters report an error they cannot name. On the Inteli control with an EGO inverter, the default alarm code for that situation is 10 (Unidentified inverter failure). The display therefore tells you that the inverter has stopped, but not why. The manual sends you to the same checks as code 9: the inverter is clean and undamaged, the discharge resistor and earth are in order, the belt is not slipping, the wiring from A1 to A2 and from A1 to M1 is sound, and the motor phases are balanced. The sheet lists no individual failed parts. Because an unnamed alarm gives no direction, the checks start with the simplest, cheapest causes, a slipping belt or a loose terminal, before the inverter itself is replaced. The code number is most useful when it is reported exactly, since another inverter brand may show a different code for the same event.
Affected models and control systems
Continental Girbau E-Series washer-extractors with Inteli control, sheet names RMG055 and smaller and EH060 and larger. Washers with Logi, LogiPro or Vended control use ALn alarms instead.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Code 10 on the display
- Drum stops without a more specific alarm
- Alarm returns at random points in the cycle
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code 10 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Slipping belt giving erratic motor feedback
- Loose motor lead on the inverter output terminal
- Dust or condensation inside the inverter
Safe checks before calling for service
- Press stop and stand back while the drum slows down.
- Switch the washer off for a minute and restart once.
- See whether the code appears at the same point in the cycle again.
- Write down the point of the cycle and the load size for the technician.
How a technician diagnoses error code 10
- Read the code and note when it appears.
- Verify the inverter is clean and undamaged.
- Check the discharge resistor and earth.
- Inspect the belt and the wiring A1 to A2 and A1 to M1.
- Confirm the motor phases are balanced, then replace the inverter if all else tests good.
- Terminal and phase checks are on live circuits at 208-240 V or higher.
- An unnamed inverter alarm takes systematic testing to narrow down.
- Replacing an EGO inverter requires correct parameters for the washer model.
How error code 10 differs from similar codes
Code 10 is the unnamed alarm, whereas code 9 is the general failure. Both use the same checks.

Why does code 10 not say more?
It is the default alarm for EGO inverters and appears when the inverter cannot name the error.
Is it the same as code 9?
The checks are the same, but the inverter reports them differently.
What if it appears only now and then?
An intermittent connection or belt is likely. Mention how often it appears.
