Continental Girbau Inteli Washer Error Codes 12 and 35: Inverter ID Mismatch
Codes 12 (inverter ID error) and 35 (inverter configure error) mean the inverter's ID or configuration does not match the washer. A technician needs to verify the inverter part, the identifier plug, the loaded parameters and the firmware.
High: the control refuses to drive an inverter that does not match, so the washer will not run.

What does Continental Girbau error code 12 mean?
Each Inteli washer expects a particular inverter set up for its model. At start-up the control compares what the inverter says it is, and how it is configured, against what the microprocessor has stored. If the inverter ID or its configuration does not match, the control will not run the drum and displays 12 (Inverter ID error) or 35 (Inverter configure error). The manual's list is a short one that fits this idea: verify the inverter is the correct part, check that the MK10 identifier plug is the correct one, make sure the parameters are loaded and verified, and check that the microprocessor has the latest firmware. The sheet does not list failed parts. This pair of codes appears most often right after a repair, when a replacement inverter or board was fitted. They are not usually caused by wear, so a washer that ran well until a service visit is a strong hint.
Affected models and control systems
Continental Girbau E-Series washer-extractors with Inteli control, sheet names RMG055 and smaller and EH060 and larger. Washers with Logi, LogiPro or Vended control use ALn alarms instead.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.

- Alarm appears at power-up
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code 12 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Inverter taken from a different washer size
- Identifier plug left over from the old board
- Parameters partly loaded when a download was interrupted
Safe checks before calling for service
- Press stop and turn the washer off for one minute, then on again.
- If a part was recently replaced, note which one and tell the technician.
- Do not unplug anything or open the control box.
- Write down whether it is code 12 or 35.
How a technician diagnoses error code 12
- Read the code and confirm it is 12 or 35.
- Verify the inverter is the correct part number for the model.
- Check the MK10 identifier plug is the correct one.
- Load and verify the inverter parameters.
- Check the microprocessor firmware and update to the latest.
- Parameter loading needs the maker's service tool and the right file for the washer size.
- Swapping an identifier plug on the wrong model can leave the drive unable to run.
- Firmware updates should not be done without the correct procedure.
How error code 12 differs from similar codes
Code 12 is an ID error and code 35 a configuration error. Both are matching problems, unlike the electrical inverter codes.
