What does Continental Girbau error code 17 mean?
Tilting washers carry a tilt board, called A10, that reports the position of the machine. The control checks both the board and the link to it. Code 17 means a problem with the A10 board, and code 20 means communication with it failed. The manual's checks begin with the setup, which has to have A10 activated, then the voltage: 12 VDC at X1-1 and X1-2 measured against X1-5. It then asks for the X1-6 connection to be cleaned, the input LED A10-H17 to be checked, and the A10 board to be replaced if needed. The document leaves the cause open and lists only what to check. Since the board tells the control where the machine is tilted, a lost signal can block movement or cycles that depend on position. A dirty contact at X1-6 is the kind of simple cause the manual expects the technician to rule out before replacing anything.
Affected models and control systems
