The bath temperature is measured by a thermistor, a sensor whose resistance changes with temperature. On this washer it is an NTC type, so the resistance falls as the water warms. The control reads that resistance continuously. If the value is missing or impossible, it cannot control the heating and displays 27 (Temp probe failure). The manual's guidance is specific.
