The PF-SC cases are self-contained multi-deck merchandisers that use R-290, a flammable refrigerant. The PF-54-SC and CF-SC fit bakeries and grab-and-go areas, and run on 115 volts. The recommended troubleshooting order starts with power, the plug and the switch, then the thermostat setting, the overload and a clogged condensing unit.
R-290 comes with a clear rule: do not use mechanical devices to defrost or puncture the tubing. If the evaporator ices up, let it defrost the right way or call us.

Why must I avoid scraping ice?
R-290 is flammable, and the maker warns against mechanical defrosting. Scraping can puncture tubing near the coil. Call us if the evaporator is iced, and let the case warm up.
