Repairs this series usually needs

  1. Scale from hard water in the steam generator
  2. Steam or water supply problems
  3. Door seal leaks
  4. Gas versions failing to ignite

BCT and BLCT are the current Blodgett combi ovens with touch control. As with the older BCM and BLCM, the number on the data plate ends in E for electric or G for gas, such as BCT-102E or BLCT-101G. The line covers a wide range of sizes, and we confirm yours before the visit.

These ovens depend on clean water. The supply should arrive at 40 to 50 psi, with hardness between 35 and 180 ppm, TDS between 40 and 125 ppm and low chlorine and chloramine. Hard water outside those limits builds scale in the steam generator, which is the most common reason for a weak steam supply. We test the water, check the generator and look at the door seal and gas ignition.

FAQBlodgett BCT and BLCT Touch-Control Combi Ovens questions
What water does a Blodgett combi need?

Supply pressure of 40 to 50 psi, hardness of 35 to 180 ppm and TDS of 40 to 125 ppm, with chlorine and chloramine under 0.2 ppm. Water often needs filtration to stay inside these limits.

Why is my combi producing weak steam?

Scale in the steam generator is the usual cause, and a restricted water supply is next. We check both and give a written price before any work.

Do you repair touch-control combis?

Yes. We service the BCT and BLCT lines, explain what we find in plain words, and stand behind the finished repair with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
