The SR114E is the electric version of the Super Runner line. It holds 40 lb of oil and uses a 14 kW heating system under a simple thermostat. You will see SR114E on the data plate.
If an SR114E does not heat, we begin at the drain valve. On these fryers a valve that is not fully closed keeps the heat from coming on. Next come the thermostat, the high limit, the contactor and the elements, and then the supply at the breaker.
A fryer that cycles on and off at start-up is usually in its normal melt stage, so we ask what you saw before we open anything up. Worn elements or a tired tank may push the decision toward a new fryer, and we lay that choice out for you.

Is cycling at start-up normal?
Often yes. The fryer warms the oil gently at first, so the heat may click on and off. If the oil never gets to temperature, we test the thermostat and elements.
