Decathlon is Dean’s big gas fryer, a 75 lb tube fryer often installed as a battery with built-in filtration. The Thermatron controller handles the temperature. Check the data plate for D160G, D160 or SCFD60.
These batteries do heavy work, so we spend time on the parts that wear with it: the drain valve, the filter pump and its lines, the O-rings in the oil return and the Thermatron probe. Cold shortening and a clogged filter pad are common reasons a pump struggles.
Only drain or filter oil through the filtering procedure in your owner’s manual, and never while the oil is hot. If you suspect a problem, let the oil cool and call us. We confirm parts for the battery before we arrive. Tell us which vat acts up so we start at the right place.

Cold oil, a clogged pad or a worn O-ring is often to blame. Let everything cool and call us. We check the pump, lines and valves and give you a written price.
What is the Thermatron?
It is the controller that holds the oil temperature on this fryer. When the temperature drifts or a probe message appears, we test the probe first, then the control, and tell you which part needs work.
Do you service the whole battery?
Yes, every vat. We check the burners, the valves, the probes and the filtration so the battery works as one unit, and we tell you what we find in each vat before we quote.
