The AGM series is Wolf’s heavy duty gas griddle, in widths from 24 to 72 in. The number in the model is the width, so an AGM48 is a 48 in. Griddle. The maker offers manual or snap action thermostats on the griddle line, and snap action units rely on a standing pilot.
When an AGM does not heat evenly, we check the burners, the plate and the thermostat. When the pilot goes out, we look at the thermocouple, the safety valve and the draft around the griddle. A griddle should be cleaned after use, because grease buildup causes both smoke and pilot trouble.
Gas odor in the kitchen is a reason to evacuate and call the gas utility from outside. Older griddles are repairable in many cases, and we say so when one is beyond it.

The number is the griddle width in inches, from 24 to 72. An AGM36 is a 36 in. Griddle. Read the model from the data plate if you are unsure.
Why is one side of my griddle cooler?
A weak burner, a dirty burner port or a thermostat that is out of calibration. We check the burners and test the thermostat. We also check the pilot and gas pressure.

Yes. Older Wolf griddles are on our list. A written price comes first, and an unsound repair gets flagged. Workmanship is covered for 30 days.
