The WEG series is Wolf’s electric griddle, in widths from 24 to 72 in. Model numbers are WEG24E, WEG36E, WEG48E, WEG60E and WEG72E. Heat comes from electric elements under the plate, and a thermostat controls the temperature, so there is no pilot to relight.
When a WEG will not heat, we check the supply and the breaker, then the elements and the thermostat. If one zone is cooler than another, we test the elements and look for a thermostat that is out of calibration. Always let the plate cool before cleaning it.
These griddles carry a high electrical load, so we ask owners not to open the control compartment. Older electric griddles are repaired with a written price first, and a frank word when the repair would not pay.

An element that has failed or a thermostat out of calibration is the usual reason. We test each element and the control. We also check the supply to the griddle.
Does a WEG have a pilot?
No. It heats with electric elements, so the work is on the elements, thermostat and supply, not on gas. Electric griddles need no gas supply for heat, which also makes them simpler to diagnose.
Do you repair older electric griddles?
Yes. Older Wolf electric griddles are work we do. The price is written first, and a repair beyond its value is flagged.
