Repairs this series usually needs
- OPEN PROBE or PROBE FAIL on the display
- SHORTED PROBE, which can mean no gas
- BELT JAM from a stopped conveyor
- Oven slow to heat
- Thermal cut-out tripped
The Advantage Digital version of the Impinger II adds a push-button digital control to the 1100 oven. You can tell it on the data plate by the letter suffix after the number, such as 1132-000-A. Numbers ending in -EA, such as 1154-000-EA, are the export versions.
The messages on this control give us a head start. OPEN PROBE and PROBE FAIL send us to the chamber sensor and its wiring. SHORTED PROBE can simply mean no gas is reaching the oven, so we check the gas side too. BELT JAM sends us to the conveyor drive. If the thermal cut-out has tripped, we look for why before it is reset.
We repair both current and older Advantage Digital ovens and tell you plainly when an oven is past a sensible repair.

The data plate number with -A is the domestic Advantage Digital version. A number ending in -EA is an export version. We use the full number to confirm parts before a visit.
Why would SHORTED PROBE appear when the sensor is fine?
The control raises it when it sees no temperature change in 5 minutes, which also happens with no gas supply. So we check gas and ignition along with the sensor.
Can you repair the thermal cut-out circuit?
Yes. We look for the reason the thermal cut-out tripped before anything is reset, because resetting it without finding the cause only invites the same shutdown the next busy afternoon.
