Find yours on the data plate. Letters after the base number usually mark the voltage, finish or door and do not change the repair.

- PEM243
- PGM300
- PGM200-3
Repairs this series usually needs
- Compartment door will not open
- Low or uneven steam pressure
- Boiler slow to fill
- Timer not shutting steam off
- Gas burner not firing
Cleveland pressure steamers cook with steam at up to 15 psi in two or three compartments, each with its own timer. The data plate shows numbers such as PEM242, PEM243, PGM300 or PGM200-3. PEM is electric and PGM is gas.
Never force a door after a cycle. Let the pressure drop and the compartment cool until the door releases normally. When service is needed, we check the water supply and level controls, the door seals, the drain, and the timers. Scale in the boiler is the usual cause of weak steam, so we ask when it was last descaled.
These steamers last for years in busy kitchens. If a boiler repair stops making sense, we say so before you spend more.

Pressure may still be inside. Stop, let the steam release and the compartment cool, then try again. If it stays locked, switch off and call us rather than forcing it.
What do PEM and PGM mean?
PEM is the electric model and PGM is the gas model, as printed on the data plate. We use the full number to match parts before the visit.
Can an older pressure steamer be repaired?
Often yes. We inspect the boiler, seals and controls, then write up what it needs. Where a repair costs more than the steamer is worth, you will hear that from us.
