Repairs this series usually needs
- Power light stays off
- Boiler does not fill
- Little or no steam
- Steam or water leaking at the door
- Steam not stopping when the timer ends
These are the earlier SteamCraft and CET electric steamers, still working in many kitchens. Check the data plate for 24CEA10, CET-5 or CET5. Parts for them are getting harder to find, so we confirm what is available before we visit.
If the power light stays off, we start with the breaker, fuse and transformer. For a boiler that will not fill, we check the water valve, strainer and the sensors for scale, and the door interlock. A steamer that blows steam out by the door usually has a worn gasket, a clogged drain, or is not level.
Turning the unit off for about three minutes lets it blow down, and switching it back on drains and refills it. That is a normal routine, not a repair. These older units are ones we repair, and a repair that does not pay off gets a candid answer.

Not necessarily. Many are still in daily use. We inspect it, write the price down, and tell you if a repair would not make sense.
The power light is off. What should I check?
Look at the breaker and the plug. If the light stays off, leave it and call us. We test the fuse and transformer so you are not guessing.
Why does steam leak from the door?
A worn door gasket, a blocked drain or an unlevel unit are the usual causes of steam at the door. We check all three and replace only what your steamer actually needs.
