Model numbers in this series
Find yours on the data plate. Letters after the base number usually mark the voltage, finish or door and do not change the repair.
- FP300i
- FP400i
Repairs this series usually needs
- Motor that will not start without lid and pusher seated
- Dull disc and poor cuts
- Motor overload under heavy product
- Noise and vibration from worn bearings or belt
The FP300i and FP400i are Hobart floor-model continuous-feed processors. They handle higher volume than the countertop FP series, and the model number is on the data plate. Commissary kitchens and busy restaurants use them for large vegetable prep.
Unplug the machine before changing discs or checking the blade, and never reach past the guard. We check the lid and pusher interlock first. Then the belt, the bearings and the motor, since noise or vibration is often a worn belt or bearing. Heavy daily use in a kitchen shows up here before anywhere else.
A floor processor in a commissary kitchen earns its place, so we try to repair rather than replace when the numbers allow. A written price comes first, and we say frankly if the motor or frame is not worth the money.

What is different about a floor model?
It processes more volume than a countertop unit and stands on the floor. The cutting method is the same, with a disc and a feed chute, so many checks carry over.
Why does mine vibrate?
A worn bearing or loose belt is the usual cause, and we inspect and replace them with a written price first. We also run it loaded to see that the shake is gone.
Is a belt change a big job?
Usually not. A worn belt is a routine repair on a floor model, and we inspect the bearings at the same time since the two wear together.
