Ice-O-Matic Ice Machine Repair
We repair Ice-O-Matic ice machines in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego, from current Elevation CIM modular cubers to ICE series cubers and ICEU undercounters. We read the error light first and test from there.
Common Ice-O-Matic problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Power light flashing red
Ice not releasing from the evaporator
Low ice production and thin cubes
Water fill never finishes
Machine off in a hot room
Scale and slime in the water system
Elevation Codes and the Older ICE Series
Elevation CIM modular cubers come in 22, 30 and 48 inch widths, in air-, water- and remote-cooled versions. The board reports trouble through the Power light and the Clean button light. A quick red flash on Power is Error 1: a max freeze of one hour or a max harvest of five and a half minutes. A slow flash with the machine off is Error 2, the sump water thermistor. Red Power with a quick yellow Clean light is Error 3, a fill that exceeded five minutes or a purge that exceeded two.
The older ICE series, from ICE0250 up to ICE2100 plus ICEU undercounters and 22-inch models, works differently. Its 2008-era controls use relays, cube-size settings, a bin thermostat and compressor start parts instead of a code display, so diagnosis means testing each part in turn.
Room Limits, Water and Our Order of Checks
Ice-O-Matic rates these machines for 50 to 100 degrees F rooms and does not approve them for outdoor installation. A hot back kitchen, humid in Miami and Houston or baking dry in Los Angeles and San Diego, sits right at that limit. The maker also calls for a water filter, and reverse osmosis water must be verified at a neutral pH of 7.0.
We start with the error pattern, then check water supply, float switch, thermistor, scale and condenser airflow. On remote units we add the line set and fan cycle control. When an older ICE machine has reached the end of its useful life, we say so. You see a written price before any work, backed by a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Ice-O-Matic codes and alarms
What the display or the blinking light means, what is safe to check, and when to stop and call us.
Ice-O-Matic lines and model numbers we service
Current and older lines. Find the number on the data plate and open its series for the usual repairs.
My Ice-O-Matic Power light is flashing red. What does that mean?
A quick red flash on the Power light is Error 1, which means a max freeze or max harvest time was reached. Ice is usually not releasing, so we check water, scale and the harvest cycle.
Why does my machine stop making ice when the kitchen gets hot?
Ice-O-Matic rates these machines for room temperatures of 50 to 100 degrees F. Above that, head pressure climbs and ice production drops. We check the condenser and airflow, and suggest ways to cool the area.
Do you repair the older ICE series machines?
Yes. The ICE series uses relays and a bin thermostat instead of display codes, and we test each part in sequence. We tell you plainly if the age of the machine makes a repair a poor investment.
