Hoshizaki Ice Machine Repair
We repair Hoshizaki KM, KMS, KMD, F-series and DCM ice machines, current and older, in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego. We start with the board lights or beeps, then work through water, airflow and the freeze and harvest cycle.
Common Hoshizaki ice machines problems
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Beeping alarm and machine stopped
Low ice or empty bin
Evaporator frozen with ice stuck
Cloudy or thin cubes
Water overflow or valve leaking by
Hoshizaki crescent cubers tell you a lot before anyone opens a panel. KM machines with H-generation boards use a red POWER OK light and green lights 1 through 4, while J-generation boards add an EXT HARVEST light. KMS Serenity machines also have an output test button, and F-series flakers show WTRIN, GM, COMP and FLUSH lights with 5-second beep alarms. DCM cubelet machines on newer boards add an orange ALARM light.
We use those signals to decide whether the problem sits in the water circuit, the harvest cycle or the supply voltage. A freeze timer or harvest timer alarm usually takes us to scale, the water valve, the float switch and condenser airflow. On KM boards, the alarm reset button clears a stored alarm once the cause has been dealt with.
Older KM-500 and KM-900 era machines and the KM-255B are still common in restaurants and bars. We repair them when the cabinet and evaporator are sound, and we tell you straight when the cost passes what the machine is worth. We quote in writing first, and our work carries a 30-day warranty.

What should I check?
Check that the room is between 45 and 100 degrees F and that the condenser is not blocked. KM machines also shut down in a cold room through the bin control. If it keeps happening, call us.
Can an ice machine alarm clear itself?
Some can. The 6-beep and 7-beep voltage alarms reset on their own when the supply voltage returns to normal. Other alarms stay stored until the cause is fixed and the alarm reset button on the board is pressed.
Do you service Hoshizaki cubelet and flaker machines too?
Yes. We work on DCM cubelet dispensers and F-series flakers, including older units. Their controls and alarms differ from KM cubers, so we confirm the series before the visit and bring the matching parts.
